Training and Certification

Community CPR & Standard 1st Aid Classes
Become certified in adult, child & infant CPR (good for two years) or First Aid (good for three years) through the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). A facility membership is not required to take either class. Special classes can be arranged for private groups of 5 or more people. Contact Phil Henry at (720) 4733 to arrange for private classes.

*YMCA Lifeguard Class
Our comprehensive lifeguard training program will prepare you to be a professional lifeguard. The course will include CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, AED, 02 administrator and Lifeguard certification. Candidates for the course must be age 16 or older, physically capable of swimming 500 yards including specific strokes, perform long and shallow front dives, tread water for 2 minutes and surface dive head first and feet first. Lifeguard certification is valid for two years.

*American Red Cross Babysitting
Students are instructed in leadership, safety, the business of babysitting, basic care, handling emergencies, first aid for breathing and bleeding emergencies. Class will included all materials and a certification card. Class is limited to 10 participants and must have 5 participants to have the class. Advanced registration is required.

Age: Boys and Girls, 12 and Up

Family

*Open Swim Hours
During Open Swim hours a large amount of the pool will be available for recreational swimming. Anyone is welcome. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Monday through Friday
12:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

*Family Swim Hours
During Family Swim hours our big inflatable will be in the pool. Open areas to swim will still be available.

Saturday 12:00 – 5:30 p.m.

*Family Open Basketball
Come shoot some hoops with the kids! Stay active, have fun and develop strong family bonds.

Location: North Gym
Saturday 3:00 – 5:30 p.m.
Sunday 12:00 – 4:30 p.m.

*Family Boot Camp
This fun class will provide the whole family with a workout. Ages 5 and older with a parent.

Location: South Gym
Saturday 9:30 - 10:15 a.m.

YMCA Member Fee: FREE

Family Group Exercise Classes
Check out our free water and land classes.

Youths ages 10-13 are welcome to attend exercise classes or use exercise equipment when supervised by an adult. Youth 14 years and older have full access to adult classes and equipment.
