The Y has picked 3 families it will sponsor this holiday season, and we would like to give you a chance to make their holiday one to remember.  This is one of their stories.

James is on disability.  He has a degenerative problem in the bones of his neck and now his doctor has found a lump in his lung.  He is not well and worries his time is limited.

His 2 teen age kids haven’t celebrated Christmas in 3 years.  With medical expenses, the family hasn’t been able to afford anything other than the basic necessities.

James heard that the Y was giving away Christmas trees during the YPals party.  He wanted to at least make sure the kids had a tree this year.  I asked James how the Y could help him.  All he asked for was gifts for his kids.  He’s afraid that this may be his last opportunity to celebrate Christmas with them because of his failing health.  He wants it to be a special Christmas to remember.

We are asking the Longmont Community to help the Y sponsor this family by providing them with something they’ve asked for.

His 16 year old daughter would like a purse (she loves the color lime green), some make-up, perfume, Ugg boots, or some clothes.  She wears a size 3 in pants, medium shirt, and 7 ½ in shoes.

His 15 year old son would like an IPod, an iPad, an Xbox 360, a set of wrenches, or some clothes.  His pants size is 30x32, large shirt, and 11 ½ in shoes.

If you would like to make a donation, just bring it to the Welcome Desk.  The Y will provide them with a tree and a holiday meal.  Thanks for your help!
