Member Code Of Conduct

The YMCA will encourage its members to participate actively and continuously in anticipation that they will become committed to our mission of enriching the spirit, mind and body of the individual and the family.
 
A member or program participant may be suspended by staff from any specific privilege for violation of rules of this code of conduct.
 
A member or program participant may be expelled by staff for unbecoming conduct.  In the case of members who are expelled, a refund covering the unexpired portion of the membership will be made.  New member fees are non-refundable.

1. Harassing or intimidating by words, gestures, body language, or any other menacing behavior with members or staff.

1. Passing of membership cards to unauthorized users.
2. Jeopardizing safety of themselves or others. 

3. Physical contact in any angry, threatening or sexual manner.

4. Use of racially motivated language or actions towards staff or members.

5. Second documented two-week suspension in twelve months.

1. Chronic disregard for policies.

2. Physical violence against another, vandalism, stealing or illegal activity.

3. Using or possessing an illegal chemical or alcohol on YMCA property or in YMCA parking lot.

4. Carrying or concealing any weapons, devices or objects which may be used as weapons.

5. Second documented suspension in twelve months.

Our Policy for Youth at the Longmont YMCA

Youth ages 10 or older

Have facility access without parent supervision as long as they adhere to the YMCA’s Code of Conduct.

They may use the weight room and cardio equipment if they have attended Equipment Orientation Training or are under direct parental supervision.

 

Youth 8 - 9 years old

Must be accompanied by and within arms’ reach of a parent/ guardian in the facility OR

Participate in a Longmont YMCA sponsored program such as Childwatch, Swim Lessons, Youth in Action, Open Swim, or Open Gym.

 

Youth age 7 and under

May not be in fitness classes, on cardio equipment, upstairs on the track, or in the weight room for safety reasons

With parental supervision, children 7 and under may utilize open swim, open gym, and racquetball courts. Childwatch is the safest area for all children under 7
