The Longmont YMCA offers a variety of childcare experiences that encourage a child in his/her physical, emotional and social growth. All childcare staff members receive YMCA training and meet state licensing requirements. Many are childcare professionals with years of experience in elementary and early childhood education. Please see the preschool and youth programs links to the left for details.

*The Y Preschool offers a preschool where a child’s development is closely monitored. Weekly themes are introduced and center-based activities are arranged that are challenging for the children as well as developmentally appropriate. Our preschool provides a nurturing environment and promotes the important values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.

All classes are located at the 1st Lutheran Church 803 3rd Ave and run Sept. — May.

2007-2008 School Year: Registrations currently accepted.

2008-2009 School Year: REGISTER NOW.

Registration Fee for all classes: $35.00

Preschool Classes
Ages 3-5 year olds (Children must be potty trained to attend).
2-day & 3-day a week classes introduce children to a scheduled routine, activities, and variety of materials in a classroom setting. The social atmosphere encourages children to move from center to center interacting with peers, while challenging themselves at activity centers. The program incorporates science, pre-math activities, arts, crafts, computers, stories and much more.

2 day:
T TH    9:00 a.m. — 11:30 a.m.

Fee: $115 per month
Member Fee: $95 per month

3 day:
M W F    9:00 a.m. — 11:30 a.m.

Fee: $135 per month
Member Fee: $115 per month

Kindergarten Readiness Classes
4 & 5 year olds
This 4-day a week class setting is designed for the year before a child enters Kindergarten. Children work on phonics, knowledge of the alphabet (including Sign Language of the letters), practice listening skills, language concepts, pre-math skills,number concepts, visual awareness and paper/pencil skills as they become more self-sufficient in a classroom with peers. The program incorporates math activities, arts, crafts, dramatic play, fine motor and large motor skills, computers, stories and much more.

4 day:

M T W TH (p.m.)   1:00 p.m. — 3:30 p.m.

Fee: $155 per month

Summer Preschool
Ages: 3-5 Year Olds
This 3-day a week class setting is designed to continue the learning of preschool children throughout the summer. This is a 6-week program starting June 17 and continueing through July 31. There will be no class the week of July 4. Classes are held at 1st Lutheran Church

3 day:

Early Years Center Events & Open House
Every month the Early Years Childcare Center has a family event and open house. This is an opportunity for parents to learn more and experience the EYC classroom.

YMCA Early Years Childcare Center
Preschool care for ages 3 to entering kindergarten
Our state licensed center offers progressive programming and hands on learning opportunities for pre-school children. We encourage values important throughout life: kindness, caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The day is balanced with learning and play; active and quiet times; large group, small group, and individual activities. We offer fine and gross motor skill development, language skills, art, science, music, cooking, swimming lessons, gym class, outdoor play, circle time, theme days, and computers. Our center has also earned a 2-star rating from Qualistar for excellence. Nowhere will you find a program as complete as ours! Quality Care for Elementary Students
*The YMCA offers an excellent care program for elementary-aged children, with options that fit every child’s schedule. We feel that an organized, stable, and structured environment is imperative to conduct an effective program. Kids Inc. focus is on well-rounded fun, stability, and most of all, room for growth. Children are presented with options within their schedule.

Kids Inc. Kindergarten Care

Kindergarten Care is designed to enrich your child’s half day Kindergarten experience with age appropriate activities. Hands-on learning projects and games will provide your child with the time to practice new skills learned in kindergarten.

Before AM Kindergarten: Breakfast snack, quiet activities and additional homework time will be available 6:30 AM until AM Kindergarten begins (between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM depending on school). Located at the YMCA with transportation provided to select area schools.

After AM Kindergarten: Time for lunch (you bring), and afternoon enrichment activities are available from when school lets out (between 11:00 AM-12:00 PM depending on school) until 6:00 PM. Located at the YMCA. We will be responsible for transportation from select area schools.

After PM Kindergarten: Join our after school program for great activities and fun! Afternoon snack and transportation are provided. The program runs from the end of school (2:30-3:30 PM depending on school) until 6:00 PM. Located at Carbon Valley Academy, Flagstaff Academy, and the YMCA.

Kids Inc. Before and After School Programs Kindergarten — 6th Graders

Designed to provide a safe, fun and enriching place for children to be before and after school plus days off school. Activities are designed for elementary-aged youth, with swimming, sports, art, science, creative play and lots of choices.

Before School: Breakfast snack, quiet activities and additional homework/study time will be available from 6:30 AM until school begins (8 AM - 8:30 AM depending on school). Located at the YMCA. We will be responsible for transportation to area schools.

After School: Afternoon snack, activities and homework time are available from when school lets out (2:30 PM - 3:30 PM depending on school) until 6:00 PM. Located at Carbon Valley Academy, Flagstaff Academy, and the YMCA. For the YMCA site, we will be responsible for transportation from area schools.

Days Off School: Full day vacation camp programs are also available on days off school. Look for special flyers or call 720-652-4731. Regular Kids, Inc. participants only pay $10 per day!

Kids Inc. Camp Jump Start

Special morning activities on St. Vrain Valley School District late start days. Register at least one week prior to the late start day. Transportation is provided to selected area schools. Please call Giselle at 720-652-4731 or check online at www.longmontymca.org.

Kids Inc. Summer Y Camp
June 2 - August 15

Located in Longmont, Frederick and Hygiene. Kids Inc. Y-Camp promises an action packed summer. We will create, explore, experience and imagine. Y-Camp activities nurture the spirit, challenge the mind, and strengthen the body. Our caring and well trained staff team, ensure a great camp experience. We offer swimming, sports, games, team-building activities, arts and crafts, nature studies, cooking science, and fieldtrips. For more information contact Giselle Lehmann at (720) 652-4731.
